The LS9208 comes with a color choice of Black or Gray and interface choice of USB, PS/2, and Serial. All models come with stand and cable. The PS/2 and Serial interface models also come with the required Power Supply.

How do I Change the LS9208 Scan Pattern from Raster OmniDirectional to Static OmniDirectional?
The LS9208 has a very aggressive scan pattern that is not only omnidirectional, but also rasters. If a static omnidirectional pattern is desired, the “OmniDirectional Pattern” programming bar code can be scanned.The “OmniDirectional Pattern” programming bar code is located in your product manual.

What Does a Slow Continuous Flashing LED on the LS9208 Indicate?
A slow continuous flashing LED on the LS9208 indicates that the LS9208 has been put into “programming mode” and is ready to scan programming bar codes. Once the LS9208 is correctly programmed, the LED should stop flashing and remain on, indicating that the scanner is ready for use.

Is a Universal RS-232 Cable that Pulls Power from Host Pin 9 Available?
An RS-232 cable is needed that will allow an LSxx08 or DSxx08 series scanner to attach to a portable device that provides power on pin 9 of the host connector.Use the universal RS-232 cable; part number 25-70602-01. It is a DB-9 cable that transmits on pin 2 and pulls power from the host on pin 9. This cable is universal and can be used with any of the LSxx08 and DSxx08 scanners.Ensure that the voltage and current supplied by the host is compatible with the scanner. Refer to the appropriate scanner Product Reference Guide for details on voltage requirements.

How Can I Provide Power via PS/2 to a Symbol Scanner that Is Attached to a Portable RS-232 Host?
For some Symbol scanners that will be attached to a portable RS-232 host, using an external power supply is not always feasible. In this case cable25-39805-01, which pulls power from an available PS/2 port may be a viable solution to power the scanner.
Ensure the voltage and current provided by the host port meet the voltage and current requirements of the scanner.
Plug the 25-39805-01 mini din connector into an available PS/2 port.
Plug the mini plug portion of the cable into the power jack of the RS-232 or Synapse cable.
Most portable host devices have the unused PS/2 port disabled as a power saving feature. Consult manufacturer documentation for host device about enabling this port.
