Q: Does RedBeam integrate with other software (i.e. my existing accounting system)?

A: No. RedBeam applications are stand alone and do not directly integrate with any specific accounting system. That being said, RedBeam does provide the ability to import via MS Excel and to export via MS Excel or Text file format for import into other systems.



It may also be helpful to know that RedBeam is based on a MS SQL database. If you are running a full version of MS SQL, you can house the data on your existing SQL server and use Enterprise Manager to mine the data from RedBeam. Our engineers can assist your database administrator with the location of (mapping) of data as necessary.

Depending on your specific requirements, it may be worth taking a look at RedBeam as a powerful and cost effective alternative to a directly integrated solution.




Q: I already have a barcode scanner. Will it work with RedBeam?

A: If you are using a cabled scanner, attached to your PC workstation then the device should work. RedBeam is designed to work with all 1D cabled barcode scanners.



Q: What is the difference between the Standard and Mobile editions of the software?

A: All RedBeam applications come in two versions, standard and mobile. The standard editions of the software allow for data collection using cabled barcode scanners attached to PC workstations. The mobile editions allow for data collection using cabled barcode scanners attached to PC workstations as well as the ability to collect data on scanner-enabled mobile computers.



Q: What is the difference between batch and wireless?

A: With batch processing, mobile users collect data via handheld computers and bar code scanning devices that are not connected to the network through a wireless connection. The collected data remains in the device until the user connects the device via a cable to a PC and synchornizes the data with the PC application. Batch asset tracking software is cost effective and ideal for environments where real-time data is not mission critical.
